Its the other way around, you have hemorrhoids from constipation. More fiber in the diet, you will go more regularly and the hemorrhoids will shrink.

I agree with the other person. Constipation causes hemorrhoids. Get treatment for constipation and the hemorrhoids are very likely to get better soon afterwards.

Try a stool softener like Sennocot, it’s over the counter. Eat more fruit and vegetables and drink plenty of water. If that doesn’t help, see a doctor.

hemorrhoids don’t cause constipation, you need to go and see your doc and get some cream for the hemorrhoids, eat more fiber in your diet, muesli is a great source for the bowels, aswell as things like brown/multigrain bread, but not too much breads as this can bind one up too,if you’re not sure ask your local pharmacy for some recommendations.

    Dear Yavuzen,

Although many patients and clinicians believe that hemorrhoids are caused by chronic constipation, among other things, little evidence to support a causative link exists.

Constipation can be treated as follows.-
    1.- High Fiber Diet
    - go for whole grains whenever possible
    - choose the right breakfast cereals
    - eat beans a few times a week
    - have several servings of fruit every day
    - every day, stir a tablespoon of ground flaxseed into your smoothie, soup, casserole, etc.
    - have several servings of vegetables every day

    2.- Fluid intake
    - take at least 8 glasses of water daily

    3.- Activity
    - as much aerobic exercise as possible
    - if the above is not feasible, brisk walking is a very good alternative

3.- Docusate sodium (Colace) which is a stool softener
    - 50-500 mg daily orally 4 times daily

Please let me know the result of the treatment. You can contact me at

Hemorrhoids don’t cause constipation. It is constipation that is causing the hemorrhoids. So, if you truly want to get rid of them you should treat your hemorrhoids as well as constipation.
Rue Care Oil is a great natural treatment for hemorrhoids, it shrinks the hemorrhoid and strengthens the veins.
As for constipation – drink more water (good quality water!), eat more fruits and vegetables.
